The five-star Coral Reef Club in Barbados has partnered with Eric Underwood to offer guests a series of exclusive classes.

Coral Reef Club, Barbados is excited to announce that it has partnered with former soloist of The Royal Ballet, Eric Underwood to teach a series of ballet, movement and stretch classes available for hotel guests staying at the hotel this May.

Whether guests are looking to learn a new skill, relax and stretch after a long flight or improve their overall sense of wellbeing, the classes will offer a fun and inventive addition to the hotel’s existing spa programme.

Set amidst twelve acres of lush, landscaped gardens, the 88-room Coral Reef Club is one of the Caribbean’s most desirable destinations and will make the perfect location for the classes. Family-owned and managed, the resort is famed for its classic Caribbean charm and island-style décor.

British-American movement director, Eric Underwood has danced the lead in some of ballet’s greatest performances including Swan Lake, Sylvia and Manon, and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Having recently retired from professional ballet last summer, Eric is currently focusing his time between working as a choreographer and balancing his fashion-based projects, including some very high-profile modelling campaigns.

Having started his career at a young age from humble beginnings, Eric Underwood’s story is nothing short of exceptional. Born in Washington D.C. Eric began training locally with Barbara Marks when he was 14. At the end of his first year he joined the School of American Ballet, New York, later winning the school’s Philip Morris Foundation Scholarship.

He graduated into the Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2000 and was promoted to soloist at the end of the season, before moving to American Ballet Theatre in 2003. As one of only few black dancers in The Royal Ballet company, Eric has been heavily responsible in making unprecedented developments in the diversity of ballet.

The Coral Reef Club’s serene setting on the west coast of Barbados will provide a picturesque backdrop for Eric’s series of ballet inspired classes. The importance of wellness is paramount at Coral Reef Club, particularly within the spa. Housed within a beautiful colonial inspired building with clean, modern lines, set within a tropical garden paradise, The Spa captures the beauty and charm of its Caribbean surroundings and is the ultimate compliment to such a unique family treasure as the Coral Reef Club.
