Born in Seattle, Mario is a New Yorkbasedrestaurateur, cookbook authorand television personality who spent a considerable amount of his culinary education in the sleepy village ofBorgo Capanne inNorthern Italy, learing the skills which have enabled him to become one of the best-known masters of Italian cuisine, stateside.
Among his many accolades,Mario was awarded the James Beard Foundation’sBest Chef: New York Cityprize; in 2005 andOutstanding Chef of the Yearin 2008, whicle the Michelin Guide NYC 2014 awardedhis New York City based restaurants, Del Posto and Babbo each with a Michelin star.
