Named Chef of the Year by Gault Millau in 2012, Kobe Desramault certainly is gaining a reputation for the incredibly natural and perfectly executed cuisine served at his Michelin star restaurant In De Wulf in Dranouter, Belgium.
Growing up in his mother’s Brasserie in Dranouter, chef Kobe returned to his home town to take over the family business at the tender age of 23, after working abroad gaining culinary experience in some of the world’s greatest kitchens, including ’s Oud Sluis.
Set in the same farm in West Flanders as his mother’s brasserie, In De Wulf is Kobe’s personal project, where there is no menu, except for a digestive menu which is ‘directed’ by the chef and where the 11-strong kitchen team sets off each morning to find fresh ingredients.
Chef Kobe’s second project, Vitrine, a brasserie style restaurant concept situated in Ghent, Belgium, has also sky-rocketed Kobe’s profile, with many labelling him as the youngest star chef in Flanders.
