In Alto Adige, Italy’s northernmost winegrowing region, where the Dolomites meet Mediterranean influences, the vineyards benefit from a unique interplay of climates. Warm, sun-filled days bring ripeness and concentration, while cool Alpine nights preserve freshness and vibrant acidity. It is this interplay that gives Colterenzio’s wines their distinctive balance, precision, and depth.
In 2025, an important renovation project marked the beginning of a new chapter. Contemporary architecture, generous spaces and a strong connection to the landscape have transformed Colterenzio into an architectural highlight of the wine region. The result is a winery that brings together the natural character of its setting with a distinctly contemporary expression.
The new winery has become a destination in its own right. A spacious Wine Shop and elegant tasting rooms are complemented by a panoramic terrace offering sweeping views across the vineyards, with the mountains rising in the distance. It is a place to experience Colterenzio beyond the bottle—to explore the architecture, taste the wines and immerse yourself in the landscape.
At the heart of the portfolio are the Lafóa wines. First introduced in the late 1980s, the historic Lafóa line marked a milestone in Colterenzio’s pursuit of quality and remains a defining expression of its winemaking philosophy. Gran Lafóa and LR, two of Colterenzio’s most iconic wines, represent the glorius culmination of decades spent striving for quality and showcasing the terroir’s distinctive character.
The wines, the architecture and the landscape tell the same story: one of contrasts, precision and a deep sense of place. At Colterenzio, mountains and the Mediterranean, tradition and modernity come together—creating not only distinctive wines but also a place worth discovering.
