Jayasom has opened its flagship wellness resort at AMAALA on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, introducing a new destination for integrative health and wellbeing within Triple Bay.
Jayasom Wellness Resort, AMAALA, is centred on personalised programmes designed to help guests live and age well. Its name combines “Jay”, meaning heart, and “Asom”, meaning place, reflecting the idea of creating “a place for the heart” where guests can reconnect with themselves and their surroundings.
The opening also forms part of the wider ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030, including the Kingdom’s growing focus on preventative health and long-term wellbeing.
Rather than treating wellness as a short-term reset, Jayasom approaches it as an ongoing practice shaped around the needs of each guest. More than 200 therapies and treatments are available across six areas: Traditional and Holistic Health, Physio Relief and Recovery, Strength & Mobility, Spa & Hydrotherapy, Aesthetic & Clinical, and Nutrition & Vitality.
Programmes can address a wide range of goals, from stress and burnout to low energy, healthy weight management and physical wellbeing. Treatments combine evidence-based practices with global wellness traditions and elements of Saudi and Middle Eastern heritage.
The range includes sound therapy, Traditional Arab and Eastern practices, Watsu flotation, healing mineral pools and ICAROS immersive movement. Each can be adapted according to what a guest hopes to achieve, whether that means better rest, recovery, increased movement or renewed energy. The broader aim is to give guests tools and habits they can continue using at home.
The resort is divided into two complementary wellness experiences. Jayana is dedicated to adults, while Jayela has been created for families.
Within Jayela, infants, children and teenagers have their own age-appropriate spaces and activities, while shared programmes give families the chance to explore aspects of wellbeing together. Across both parts of the resort, the approach draws on nutrition, fitness, physiotherapy, relaxation, beauty, mindfulness and energy work to suit different stages of life.
At launch, guests can book the resort’s signature Essence of Jayasom programme. Each stay is guided by a dedicated Wellness Advisor and shaped around the guest’s physical and emotional goals.
A wider collection of programmes is set to follow. As a Family will focus on multi-generational wellbeing, while As a Pair will centre on connection and shared experiences. As a Woman will support hormonal health, vitality and overall wellbeing, and As a Leader has been designed around high-performance lifestyles, with an emphasis on balance, resilience and mental clarity.
Further programmes include As a Feather, dedicated to detoxification and lightness, and As a Flow, which focuses on movement and physical vitality.
Guests will be able to choose both their programme and the length of their stay, allowing each itinerary to be adjusted to individual priorities.
Food also plays a significant role in the Jayasom approach. Its concept of conscious cuisine sees Wellness Advisors work with the kitchen to adapt meals to individual goals, with an emphasis on healthy, plant-based dishes.
Fresh seasonal produce is supplied to the kitchens by the resort’s Farm Belt, while fermentation, pickling and specialist beverages form part of the wider food programme. Guests can also learn some of these techniques themselves at the Nakeha cooking studio, where experiences include Pickling & Fermentation classes intended to provide practical knowledge that can be used beyond the resort.
Karen Campbell, CEO of Jayasom, said: “Jayasom was born from a belief that wellness is a practice – grounded in presence, learning and the quiet courage to be still”.
“At AMAALA, we provide the space and support to restore balance, breathe deeply and reconnect with wisdom – ancient and modern, personal and shared. Our commitment is to deliver wellness with integrity and compassion, empowering guests to carry forward habits that enrich their lives long after they return home”.
The design of the resort has also been shaped by its Red Sea setting. Saudi and Middle Eastern heritage, local craftsmanship and storytelling are incorporated throughout, while its nature-led architecture aims to create an environment that supports both physical and mental wellbeing.
The surrounding landscape of Triple Bay is treated as part of the experience rather than simply a backdrop, reinforcing Jayasom’s broader focus on connection between guests, place and personal wellbeing.
Across its programmes, treatments and shared experiences, the resort aims to encourage guests to develop an approach to wellness that can continue long after a stay has ended. Rather than positioning wellbeing as an escape from everyday life, Jayasom sees it as something that can become part of it.
