Just steps from the Mediterranean and a few minutes from Sitges’ historic centre, CASA METT blends heritage architecture, contemporary design, Italian-Mediterranean dining, and wellness, with much of the experience centred on the easygoing rhythms of coastal life.
The hotel occupies five historic Noucentista villas, listed as part of Sitges’ Architectural and Cultural Heritage and formerly home to the iconic Hotel Capri. Rather than starting afresh, CASA METT has retained the character of the buildings while introducing bright interiors, natural materials and a warmer, more contemporary aesthetic.
Its 38 rooms span several categories, many with private terraces, and combine the architectural details of the 19th-century property with modern comforts. The beach is just 100 metres away, while gardens and a swimming pool provide plenty of reason to remain within the hotel grounds.
Food and drink sit at the heart of the property. Its main restaurant, Balera, takes its cues from the carefree summers of the Italian coastline, bringing a little dolce far niente to Sitges.
Designed around long lunches and shared tables, the Italian-Mediterranean menu makes use of seasonal produce across antipasti, fresh pasta, seafood, premium meats and artisanal pizzettas, with classic desserts including homemade tiramisu. A wine list brings together local and international labels, while the cocktail menu draws inspiration from Italy’s different regions.
Alongside Balera, the Pool Club serves as CASA METT Sitges’ social hub. Days here are intended to move easily from lunch beside the water to music, cocktails and evenings stretching into sunset, reflecting the lively but unhurried atmosphere for which Sitges is known.
Wellness takes a quieter approach. An intimate spa area uses products from Swiss beauty house Valmont and offers a selection of face and body treatments focused on relaxation and wellbeing. There are two treatment rooms, including a double cabin for couples, as well as a sauna and shower.
Guests wanting to keep up their usual training routine also have access to a fully equipped Life Fitness gym, with equipment for cardio, strength and mobility workouts.
The opening adds another hospitality address to a town that has long balanced beachside ease with a strong cultural and social identity. Known for its historic centre, Mediterranean setting and creative spirit, Sitges provides a fitting backdrop for CASA METT’s particular version of relaxed luxury.
Rather than operating simply as a base from which to explore the destination, the hotel has been conceived as somewhere guests might happily spend much of the day: breakfast giving way to the pool, lunch lingering into the afternoon, and sunset arriving with a cocktail in hand.
It is a formula built around uncomplicated pleasures, with the history of the old Hotel Capri still present beneath its polished new identity.
