Hotel Tannenhof, the exclusive five-star property in Austria, makes way for the arrival of it’s newest star in the form of Head Chef James Baron…
Tyrolean twist

Hidden in the privacy of the hills of Nasserein, on the edge of St Anton’s main village, Hotel Tannenhof is making big changes to it’s highly acclaimed restaurant. Recently announcing that it will welcome a new head chef, guests are eagerly anticipating what culinary delights the new arrival will bring with him.

FOUR can reveal that the newest member to the five-star property will be James Baron, a chef who can boast having been alumnus at top restaurants such as The Fat Duck by Heston Blumenthal, Schloss Schauenstein, and Hotel Le Terminus.

Speaking about his new position at Hotel Tannenhof,James Baroncomments,“I am thrilled to be part of hotel Tannenhof’s great team. I am joining an immensely creative and spirited hotel where I am able to express and develop my culinary ideas. Together we are creating an unforgettable experience for our guests.“

The creative chef will draw upon his wealth of cooking knowledge to combine modern flavours and techniques with traditional flavours and products of Tyrol. Staying true to the essence of Hotel Tannenhof all ingredients are thoughtfully, responsibly and locally sourced so that the food remains classic, stylish, consistent and all with Baron’s signature twist.

Guests are invited on a culinary journey during the eight-course tasting menus where they can indulge in delicious dishes such as: duck liver with quince and Perigord truffle; pikeperch with black salsify; veal with mandarin; and sea buckthorn with carrot and blood orange.

If this isn’t enought to whet your apetite then guests of Hotel Tannenhof can choose to not only dine in the intimate restaurant, but also in their private suite or – on warmer evenings – the picturesque terrace. With daily changing menus, Baron and his team are also on hand to create exquisite breakfasts, lunches, afternoon snacks and packed lunches, all individually tailored to guest’s plans, even if this involves exploring the local mountains.

The exciting new offerings from Chef Baron will be a welcome change for 2016 and with it will come dishes and menus that change daily, not just seasonally, and all perfectly matched with a beautiful collection of hand picked wines from expert sommelier Paula Bosch.

If you want to see in the new year in style, away from the hustle and bustle of the town and with gourmet Tyrolean cuisine, then head to Hotel Tannenhof to try James Barons’new exclusive menus.
