For three generations, SCHRAMM workshops have specialised in sleep comfort Handmade in Germany. Having been founded in 1923 as an upholstery and saddlery workshop, SCHRAMM workshops have focused on manufacturing high quality mattresses and base mattresses since the mid-1960s. Several bed creations and fully integrated boxspring systems have followed, creating entirely comprehensive sleep comfort which is enhanced consistently.
In the carpenter, upholstery and tailor workshops 200 staff members create high-end-sleeping comfort with utmost handcraft precision and considerable personal dedication.
In striving for highest quality and ever perfect solutions SCHRAMM keeps the customer at the centre of all concerns. A far cry from the increasingly popular mass production, they have remained faithful to their handcraft for more than 90 years.

Base mattress
Even if the fine-tuned top mattress reacts sensitively to the body contours, it requires, however, a stable and elastic base mattress to unfold its full effectiveness. The spring-mounted base mattress by SCHRAMM (boxspring) absorbs kinetic energy across its entire surface and cushions the pressure evenly. PUREBEDS are available without adjustment or with motor-driven adjustment.
Top mattress
The top mattress adjusts directly and very closely to the body. The supporting force of each SCHRAMM mattress may be individually fine-tuned to each sleeper by selecting different spring force formulas.
The independently responding top mattress beds the body in an optimal anatomic position; the stable base mattress cushions every movement smoothly and evenly, thereby providing the supporting foundation for sound sleep.
Best climate
Did you know that a sleeping person loses an average of half a litre moisture every night?
A bit of that is absorbed by sleepwear and bedding – but the far more important role played during the removal of moisture is the aeration and ventilation of the mattress. One glance at the inside of the dual mattress system shows how schramm solves that problem, thanks to the highest level of competence and craftsmanship: to create an optimal sleep environment, the padding materials are connected to each other via an elaborate tacking system, and not – as is customary – glued airtight to each other. The air can circulate freely through both mattresses in all directions – moisture is immediately released and evaporates. Because a good night‘s sleep requires air – and passionate attention to detail.
The PUREBEDS fabrics represent a conscientious decision in favour of sustainability and environment. Some fabrics are completely made from yarns derived from recycled materials. For example, plastic bottles and recycled cotton serve a new purpose by being processed during the ecologically beneficial production.

Upon visiting the SCHRAMM production for the first time, you cannot help but be amazed by the handcraft expertise and diligence with which the products are made. From the tempering of the springs up to the assembly of the bed frame everything is made under one roof.
