After six years of prolonged delays, Heckfield Place in Hampshire, England, has announced it will be welcome its first guests this September.

If you’re partial to a charming countryside getaway, you’re in for a treat. This September, Heckfield Place in Hampshire, England will finally open its doors to guests for the first time.

Despite initial plans to open in 2012, the hotel’s opening has been delayed and prolonged – but has vowed to welcome guests for autumn 2018. The beautiful Georgian family home has been lovingly restored to its historic origins and the house, gardens and Home Farm have been brought back together.

Set in a 400-acre estate filled with lush greenery, Heckfield is a living place, based around sustainability and onward thinking.

A country haven with a progressive vision, Heckfield Place is helmed by the Chan Family, General Manager Olivia Richli and Culinary Director Skye Gyngell. Designer Ben Thompson honours the House’s roots while introducing updates that lend an inviting, organic and elegantly contemporary feel.

When speaking about opening the doors, Olivia Richli commented: “A group of uniquely talented people has come together over time to build a place of intrinsic beauty where extraordinary things can happen.

I am very excited to open the doors and share Heckfield Place with our future guests. The House and grounds will offer an antidote to the modern world, where guests can connect with each other and to nature.”

The property will feature 46 charming bedrooms spread across the main house, ‘the corridors’ and a cottage in the grounds. There will also be two restaurants, a private cinema and a spa to enjoy.

A Moon bar, Marle restaurant and Hearth open-fire restaurant, plus 13 bedrooms will all be situated within the main house, alongside the 67-seater cinema and wine cellar.

The Little Bothy spa will boast five treatment rooms, steam and relaxation rooms and three studios.

Designed by Ben Thompson, Heckfield Place has been constructed with salvaged stone and distressed walnut for the floors, while a mix of worn Persian carpets, antique furnishings, natural linen and wool upholstery furnish the rest of the property.

Ideal for the foodies, Culinary Director Skye Gyngell promises cuisine that feels like ‘you’re being hugged.’
