In addition to two Michelin star chef Thomas Martin (Jacobs Restaurant, Hamburg) and Denmark’s “Chef of the Year 2010”, Tommy Friis (Fru Larsen, Langa), the two female chefs Anna Matscher (Zum Löwen, South Tyrol), the self-taught Michelin star chef, and colleague Sarah Henke (Restaurant Spices, A-ROSA Sylt), Gault Millau’s “Shooting Star 2013” presented their outstanding cuisine with matching wines to 145 guests.
Thomas Martin impressed with his excellent venison and delicious sauce in classical haute cuisine style. Anna Matscher’s Mediterranean inspired cuisine was inspired by her home country South Tyrol. She introduced her Tortelloni with Buffalo Curd to the Baltic Sea. Sarah Henke presented her Lobster³ with Coconut and a spicy Far Eastern touch. The big surprise of the evening was the sea trout by Tommy Friis, who hid it under a deliciously prepared head of lettuce. The crunchy topping – the guests suspected it to be coffee / cocoa – turned out to be roasted hazelnuts and malt. André Schneider from the Strandhotel presented his regional cuisine on a dish of Kappelner Smoked Eel and Pea Puree. This was followed by five divine desserts at an informal get-together at restaurant Felix. Here the Dane surprised again with Crème Fraîche, Summer Berries, Oatmeal, White Chocolate and Candied Sorrel, served in a jar. The South-Korean-born Henke presented a variation on tea with different textures. Guests enjoyed a variety of liqueurs in a beautiful atmosphere of piano music and mingled until late into the night.
