If you love fine dining, don’t miss out on this upcoming weekend of feasting at Goodwood Racecourse this May.

Good news, foodies. Following last year’s success, Goodwood Racecourse is hosting its annual celebration of racing and food; May Festival – and you’re invited to the edible action.

Taking place in the leafy surrounds of West Sussex from Thursday 23 May – Saturday 25 May 2019, join the racecourse for a host of gourmet entertainment.

Alongside exhilarating horse racing, this year will see exciting repeat appearances and fresh new talent from a number of sustainable-minded chefs; John Williams, Michelin-starred chef from The Ritz will be spotted again in the Demo Kitchen showing off some of his most delectable recipes, alongside Matt Brown, executive chef at Hawksmoor and James Golding, chef director at The Pig.

Goodwood’s own Michelin-starred chef, Darron Bunn, will also be found in the Demo Kitchen, teaching the racing audience how Farmer, Butcher, Chef, Goodwood’s sustainable restaurant, uses produce from Goodwood’s Home Farm to feed hungry guests from across the Estate.

This year, the Food Market will join the Demo Kitchen on the East Parade Lawn in the Gordon-Lennox Enclosure, or, as it will be known for the event, The Food Lawn.

Head here to find the Food Market, a cluster of beautifully arranged tipis, overflowing with locally sourced produce – providing guests the chance to sample and shop from a range of award-winning products.

New for 2019, there’s also an exciting range of street foods to try. The concourse outside the Sussex Stand will host a wide selection of street food stalls that can all be sampled by trying out various taster options (all available for a bargain five pounds). By opting for smaller portions, you can sample flavours from across the globe without having to choose just one.

The jewel in the culinary crown will be a special Tom Kerridge menu served in The Kitchen, formally the Sussex Bistro. Open on a ‘walk in’ basis for the full three days of racing,  the no-booking policy means everyone will have the opportunity to stop by and taste some of Michelin-starred Tom’s finest dishes.

All of these exciting activities will, of course, be backed by three exhilarating afternoons of horse racing. Saddle up, it’s time to take your tastebuds for a ride.
