Best of Bordeaux

Not only an area steeped in natural beauty, history, and culture, Bordeaux is also home to some of the world’s finest wines and highly acclaimed winemakers. Long considered a painstaking craft reserved for wine elite, winemaking can now be an experience for even the most inexperienced wine enthusiast.

This is thanks to VINIV, the company set up by Stephen Bolger and the Cazes family of Château Lynch-Bages, and owners of 4 starChâteau Cordeillan Bages with its world renowned 2 Michelin Star Restaurant. They work together to help wine lovers work alongside elite Bordeaux winemakers to produce their own premium barrels, using vineyards from the region’s most coveted appellations including; Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Emilion, and the recently announced Pomerol vineyard, amongst others.

Since 2009 VINIV’s goal has been to create an environment that enables individuals to full experience the wine making experience, whilealso deepening their subject knowledge. Through their collaboration with Bordeaux winemaking insiders, individuals will be able to create their own unique barrels of wine that reflect their exact needs and desires.

Now with the addition of the highly acclaimed Pomerol to its exclusive list of appellations, members will be able to enjoy wider vineyard and varietal options.

Commenting on the new additions, Stephen Bolger, Founder and CEO of VINIV, adds: “Just the mention of Pomerol evokes scarcity and the best of Bordeaux wines. Working with Château CLINET is a privilege and the perfect response to our most frequent client request of recent years: Can I get access to Merlot from Pomerol for my blend?”

The aforementioned Château CLINET, located at the centre of Pomerol, is one of the most prestigious estates of the Pomerol wine region. As part of their collaboration with VINIV they will allow winemakers to access their section of 50-year-old Merlot vines, which are some of the most highly coveted grapes in the world.

Speaking about the newly formed partnership, Ronan Laborde, CEO of Groupe CLINETsaid,“We love VINIV’s innovative approach of putting sophisticated consumers at the centre of the winemaking experience. Providing a discreet amount of our best vines in Pomerol is an excellent way for Château Clinet to demonstrate what makes our terroir, landscape and winemaking practices so unique.”

So if you ever fancied yourself as a budding winemaker, or oenologist in the making, then VINIV has created the perfect opportunity to do this.
