Michelin-starred Meals in the Sky

This December sees the start of a blossoming new project from SWISS airlines and boutique hotel, The Alpina Gstaad,to create sumptuous suppers while you are jet setting around the globe.

The national airline that serves 105 destinations and 49 countries from Zurich and Geneva has launched this latest project as part of its Mercury-Award-winning culinary concept, SWISS Taste of Switzerland.

Known for his award-winning fare at both Sommet restaurant, the Japanese restaurant MEGU, as well as its Swiss Stübli, The Alpina Gstaad’s Michelin star chef, Marcus G. Lindner, has helped create a bespoke menu from each of these world-class eateries for all lucky SWISS passengers to feast on.

So, for the next three months all those travelling with SWISS on their Business and first class long-haul flights, to and from Switzerland, can enjoy delicious offerings from the five-star hotel such as: rock lobster with cocktail sauce, mildly smoked char with horseradish and buttermilk timbale, fillet of beef with pumpkin-quince vegetables on mashed potatoes with “Belperknolle”shavings, veal ragout with arugula spätzle, pike perch with cider compote and chestnut cake with lingonberry compote.

Wine buffs need not fret as they are also catered for with carefully selected Swiss wine pairings courtesy of Cantons Valais and Bern.

Always committed to delivering the highest product and service quality, The culinary initiative from SWISS comes as this year the Michelin Guide 2016 announced that Switzerland continues to be at the top of the league for its selection of Michelin star restaurants, with the most Michelin stars per capita in Europe.
