Daniel Humm’s award-winning restaurant profile will be expanding to the West Coast with plans for a second NoMad in Los Angeles…
NoMad part two

Daniel Humm and Danny Meyer have gone from strength to strength with their restaurant projects over the last few years, with 11 Madison Park being awarded three Michelin stars and being named #5 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Equally NoMad, the Flatiron district eatery in New York, has gained huge success in the city’s restaurant scene, winning a Michelin star in this year’s guide, which only sparks further excitement over the announced plans for the LA outpost of the James Beard award-winning venue.

The West coast restaurant will be located in the Giannini building on 7th and Olive streets. The ornate structure was originally built as the headquarters for A.P. Giannini’s Bank of Italy, before eventually becoming the Bank of America. The neoclassical structure will now not only be home to their first restaurant outside Manhattan, but will also house a Los Angeles version of the NoMad Hotel, both set to open in Autumn of 2017.

The new NoMad will add an incredible presence to the ever-growing restaurant scene of downtown LA, which has seen a surge in new restaurants, bars and hotels over recent years.

Hints at the menu include classic dishes from the New York pioneer site, including the ‘seafood plateau’, ‘foie gras-stuffed chicken’, and the ‘suckling pig’.The signature dishes of the restaurant will no doubt be given a west coast makeover, once the team is exposed to the wealth of local, seasonal produce available in the area.
