Former Zuma chef Kyoichi Kai, head chef of Kouzu, is launching a new private dining experience in London’s Belgravia.

Just a short walk from Buckingham Palace and opposite the world famous Goring Hotel, Kouzu opened in November 2014 as a new addition to London’s fine dining scene. With a team of arguably the best Japanese chefs in the UK, Kouzu can boast ex-Nobu, ex-Zuma and ex-Hakkasan staff:

Kyoichi Kai (Zuma and Arts Club’s Kyubi’s founder chef), Head Chef of Kouzu

Toshimasa Tanahashi (Nobu, Arts Club), Sous Chef of Kouzu

Yamaguchi Nobuyuki (Zuma), Head Sushi Chef

Yasuhiro Komatsu (Sake No Hana), General Manager

Reo Nomura (Hakkasan), Bar Manager

The brand new and very intimate Kouzu Chef’s Table seats up to seven guests and is accessed through its own private VIP entrance. Located on the lower ground floor and enjoying a direct and privileged view of the busy Kouzu kitchen makes it a rather unique and exclusive private dining experience.

With a broad menu offering, including not only sashimi and sushi, but charcoal grill dishes, tempura, specials and salads, Kouzu uses the fresh ingredients and top of the range suppliers from the UK and Japan. The restaurant also boasts a traditional omakase sushi bar for an authentic and exclusive dining experience, where each pair of diners enjoys the undivided attention and expert recommendations of their own dedicated sushi chef.

On display across all three floors of Kouzuis the biggest ever exhibition of Teruhide Kato’s woodblock prints from a limited collection of the last remaining original signed pieces owned by the Japanese Gallery.
