Professional and amateur food photographers from all over the world have until January 31 to submit their photographs into one or more of 13 categories. Categories include Food in the Street; Food Portraiture; Food in the Field; Young (under 18s) and the new category – Apple, which involves the judges looking for innovative and beautiful images of, yes, you got it, an apple!
25 judges, including food journalists, editors, publishers, chefs and the cream of the food, drink and restaurant industry, will sieve through entries to narrow down finalists and winners, with one photographer picking up a £5,000 award.
Last year saw over 2,000 images entered from over 60 countries around the world, with the work of the winners and runners up shown at a public exhibition in London.
This year’s Awards Evening will be held on April 23 at Mall Galleries in London, followed by a four day open exhibition showcasing the photographers’ work, from April 24 to 27, before a touring exhibition travels to Birmingham, Ludlow, Cumbria and the East Midlands.
