The German palate has long been credited as one of the finest in Europe. The Michelin Guide has recently listed a total of ten three Michelin-star restaurants in the country, ranking it second only to France in Europe.

Germany is often credited for its efficiency. This, combined with precision and bags of flair, has produced a host of culinary leaders, including Christian Bau of Victor's Gourmet Restaurant Schloss Berg in Perl-nennig and Thomas Bühner of La Vie in Osnabrück.

La Belle Epoque is one such giant of German cuisine, having just landed the accolade of its tenth restaurant to hold three stars. Head chef Kevin Fehling is also the youngest German chef to achieve this at 35-years-old. The 2013 Michelin guide described his dishes as, “typifying the best of modern German cuisine.”

France betters Germany’s collection of three star establishments with a staggering 26.
