The world’s greatest female chef has been confirmed to takeover at the five-star Halkin Hotel in London. Elena Arzak is part of the Arzak cooking dynasty and is currently the holder of three Michelin stars.
The site of the soon to move Nahm, which is headed by Australian David Thompson, will become Ametsa. The new restaurant will be a London outlet of the San Sebastian restaurant, Arzak, and will open in February.
The Arzak restaurant is amongst the finest food establishments in the industry and has been listed in the top 10 restaurants in the world list for the past six years. It will also be the first time the Spanish restaurant has ventured out of its native land.
Nahm will still carry on at its Bangkok restaurant, which is also run by Thompson. It has also enjoyed success as of late and entered the world’s top 50 restaurants this year for the first time. An official closing and farewell party will be held at Nahm, in London 12 December, the evening will include a champagne reception and canapés and an official ending to the successful Thai restaurant.
