Specialising in French cuisine with a witty New York twist, chef Daniel Humm is arguably one of the most acclaimed chefs in the United States. A native of Switzerland, Humm began his culinary training at the age of 14 as an apprentice, cooking in many of the finest Swiss hotels and restaurants. At the age of 24, as the Executive chef at Gasthaus zum Gupf in the Swiss Alps, he earned his first Michelin star. Three years after receiving four stars from the San Francisco Chronicle in 2003 as Executive Chef at Campton Place in San Francisco, Humm became the Executive Chef of Eleven Madison Park. Since his arrival, the restaurant has been designated Grand Chef Relais & Chateaux in 2008 and received four stars from the New York Times in 2009. In 2012, chef Daniel Humm also received the James Beard Award for “Best Chef: NYC”. During his visit to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s Mandarin Grill + Bar restaurant, guests will be able to meet chef Humm and enjoy set lunch and dinner menus, both offering a selection of his delicious signature dishes.
