Mothers are wonderful people, making it incredibly hard sometimes to find anything equally as wonderful to buy them for Mother’s Day.
So when we came across this beautifully presented and fancifully selected box of chocolates by Godiva, we thanked mother nature for blessing the earth with such talented chocolatiers.
Created in 1926 in Brussels, Godiva markets itself as one of the most prestigious chocolate brands in the world. Its Mother’s Day Spring Box, created by Godiva’s Master Chocolatiers, covets an enticing selection of chocolates, all with a unique and rather glamorous story behind them – much like the mother’s they have been specially made for.
In the box you will find a Signature Lait Café, Godiva’s fabulous coffee ganache, created in 1949 for the film premier of Gone with the Wind and hand decorated to resemble the feather in Scarlett O’Hara’s famous hat; Éclat Feuilletine, a chocolate casing dotted with delightful feuilletine pieces and filled with homemade praline which takes its name from the French word ‘brighten’ – synonymous with most mothers we know; Coeur Blanc, Godiva’s iconic chocolate, made from a traditional recipe which includes smooth hazelnut praline, which has been passed on by Godiva’s founders; Volupté 72, a 72% dark chocolate ganache encased by a delicate flower blossom which references Belgium’s famous heritage in Art Deco style; and Lady Noir, a white chocolate ganache flavoured with exotic Madagascan vanilla, covered in a dark chocolate shell, intricately embossed with an image of Lady Godiva – the Belgian Chocolatier’s ultimate heroine.
So, as the saying goes, life is like a box of chocolates, and if you do pick up a Godiva Spring Box this Mother’s Day, you’ll be sure to be living a luxuriously indulgent one…
