Last Wednesday FOUR magazine attended Le Cordon Bleu’s UK Scholarship Award, held at the prestigious culinary arts institutes Centre of Excellence in Bloomsbury Square, London and celebrated Zoe McReynolds success, who became this year’s scholarship recipient.

According to Le Cordon Bleu Master Chefs Loic Malfait and Julie Walsh, who presented McReynolds with her award, the young chef wowed judges with her ‘strong desire to learn’.

McReynolds, the 18-year-old from Eastwood in Essex, will now take up a place on the world-renowned course, Le Grand Diplôme, run by Le Cordon Bleu. The scholarship award includes accommodation fees, and also an apprenticeship with acclaimed chef Pierre Koffmann at his Knightsbridge restaurant – a truly life-changing opportunity of culinary education priced at £30,000.

The reception, which FOUR attended, attracted leading chefs, media figures and politicians who enjoyed an evening of celebration and fantastic food – created by Le Cordon Bleu chefs.
