Border Agency worker, Chris Holmes, resigned from work today, with a letter of resignation written on a white, iced cake! The 31-year-old, who has previously worked under Gordon Ramsey and Marcus Wareing before joining the Border Agency, said he was resigning from the Border Agency to follow his dream: to open up a cake-making business.
“Having recently become a father I now realise how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me and other people happy,” said his message on the cake.
“For that reason I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years.
“I wish the organisation and my colleagues the best for the future and I remind you that, if you enjoy this cake, you can order more at www.mrcake.co.uk.”
The picture of the “resignation cake” has since gone viral, when it was retweeted by his relative Stuart Jackson, who works in public relations.
He wrote: “So, my brother-in-law has resigned from his 9-to-5 job in spectacular fashion. Jerry Maguire meets Masterchef.”
