This May, renowned Irish chef Richard Corrigan’s restaurant Corrigan’s Mayfair will be launching an exclusive menu for the Chelsea Flower Show, using wild flowers and herbs grown in the urban rooftop garden at sister restaurant Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill.
Head chef Chris McGowan has worked closely with Richard to create a floral-themed Irish and British menu including starters such as English asparagus with Cornish crab and apple blossom, and English summer melon salad with wild Pennywort and roses.
Main courses feature Roast Elwy Valley lamb with lavender and rosemary salt and Steamed fillets of sole with courgette flower and crayfish, while desserts include Buttermilk cream, wild strawberries and lemon verbena and Elderflower Champagne with British summer berries.
The menu will be priced at £29 for three courses.
In keeping with the menu which celebrates the iconic Chelsea Fower Show, Corrigan’s Mayfair, located on Upper Grosvenor Street, will be decked out with designs by celebrated florist, Amanda Wilgrave, throughout the week of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Inside, guests will be treated to an exclusive range of ‘Chelsea in Bloom’ cocktails, which will be available throughout the week, too.
Set to start launch on Saturday 25 May, the restaurant will host a cookery class, ‘Mayfair in Bloom’, which will teach guests how to prepare and cook dishes from the edible flower menus. The sessions will include a Champagne and canapé reception, a three-course lunch with matching wines and a goody bag with recipe cards, an apron and a signed copy of Richard Corrigan’s most recent cookery book.
Corrigan’s Mayfair offers a perfect lunch destination for those visiting the RHS Chelsea Flower show or those who simply wish to celebrate the world famous gardening event.
The menus will be available from Monday 20 to Saturday 25 May while the cookery school, Mayfair in Bloom, will be on Saturday 25 May – offering anyone who wants to celebrate the world famous gardening event, the perfect opportunity.
