Located in the heart of the capital, at the foot of Prenzlauer Berg, Bötzow Berlin is an old listed building with rooms that inspire guests with a sense of its past. Today, with its charming industrial architecture from the 19th Century still intact, Bötzow Berlin has become a place of art and now, with the addition of Raue, a place of Michelin-starred cuisine.
Working alongside the various exhibitions of contemporary art which take place at Bötzow Berlin, chef Tim Raue has created a menu for his new restaurant concept, La Soupe Populaire, which is inspired by the works of art which find themselves within the historic halls.
For each art exhibition, Raue will set to work on a menu, inspired by the art pieces, which consists of four starters, four main courses and two desserts. Guests who have the pleasure of dining there will find themselves in the restaurant, which hosts 54 seats surrounded by the exhibiting arts, or, at the Chef’s Table in the kitchen.
The first art pieces that will mark the start of the collaboration is from two Berlin artists, Eva & Adele, with their exhibition, "FUTURING".
Chef Tim Raue has developed a menu inspired by Berlin and Brandenburg including: meatballs with beetroot and potatoes, liver of rabbit with stewed apples, red onions and marjoram. The price for a course is between nine and 22 euros. In addition, there are ten white and red wines, as well as some selected rarities, on offer.
Working alongside Tim Raue in the kitchen will be long-time companion Michael Jaeger, a Berlin native who worked with Tim Raue at Swissôtel from 2003 to 2007.
Croco Le Bleu, the restaurant's bar, will also offer guests cocktails from around the world, created by Gregor Scholl - the uncrowned authority of the Berlin cocktail scene.
The restaurant at the studio building is open from 17 May 2013 Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon until midnight.
