San Pellegrino Cooking Cup sets sail once again

The 13th edition of the S.Pellegrino Cooking Cup took place in Venice this weekend from 14 to 15 June, seeing Chef Paul Qui, 32 years old from the United States, delighting judges with his Chawan Mushi dish and becoming Acqua Panna & S.Pellegrino Young Chef of the Year 2013.

Taking place over two days, the S.Pellegrino Cooking Cup, as with previous years, invited 10 chefs from all over the world to participate in a race, cooking a special dish on board different sailing boats.

The Cooking Cup doubles as a cooking competition in which the world’s most talented young chefs come together to challenge each other and a celebration of Italian excellency – sailing and fine dining – set against the magical backdrop of Venice’s lagoon.

Judged by a panel of guest judges including chefs Massimo Bottura, Bruno Oger, Ron Blaauw, Richard Ousby, Davide Scabin, Nino Graziano, Franco Favaretto, Andrea Berton, Ottavio Missoni Jr and the TV presenter Francesca Barberini, the 10 young chefs to compete for the Cooking Cup title included: Stewart Wesson, Australia; Rudi Jr Obauer, Austria; Yannick Van Aeken, Belgium; Ren Jie Liu, China; Haviv Moshe Israel; Giuseppe Iannotti, Italy; Jeroen Trimbos, Netherlands; Vladimir Mukhin, Russia; Dominic Petzold, Emirates and Paul Qui, USA.
