PUNI is a family-run premium whisky distillery, located in the idyllic Vinschgau Valley in South Tyrol, Italy. While the name PUNI is based on the river which flows through the valley where the Ebensperger family distill their Italian triple malt whisky, it has fast become a world-renowned brand, regarded for its high quality and exceptional taste.
Officially founded in 2010, the beginnings of PUNI can be traced back to the 90s when Jonas Ebensperger’s father completed three sommelier courses where he was introduced to distillates and the tasting techniques of spirits, which resulted in his now life-long love affair with whisky.
Distilled using Scottish methods of making whisky, PUNI whiskies are classed as ‘New Spirits’ or ‘Young Whiskies’ and are refreshing and light – exactly the way the Italians, blessed with sunshine and warm weather, like to enjoy their whisky.
PUNI’s one-year-old ALBA has developed subtle notes of vanilla, marzipan and coriander – together with its dominant toasty aromas of malt – and pairs perfectly with red meats and mature cheeses.
