Born in 1963, Li Xiaolin originally started his career as a dentist. Yet, as the son of is Li Shanlin, the founder of Family Li Cuisine, who managed Family Li with his wife, Wang, Xiao Lin soon became chef, consultant and successor of Family Li’s award-winning worldwide restaurants.
Family Li has restaurant concepts in Beijing, Melbourne Australia and Tokyo. The flagship Family Li restaurant in Beijing opened in May 1985 under the helm of chef Li Xiao Lin’s father, chef Li Shanlin.
In 1991, after the Chinese New Year, LiLi and Li Xiao Lin opened the second Family Li Cuisine in Melbourne, Australia.
In 2002, Family Li opened a third restaurant in Tokyo which was honoured with two Michelin-star status in 2008 by the Michelin Guide. The highest rating for Chinese restaurants at the time, Family Li has become a well-known and respected restaurant concept, in Beijing, Melbourne and Tokyo.
