Set over three days (Monday 7, Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 October) The Restaurant Show will bring a selection of live events, culinary competitions and appearances from top industry talent and personalities from the restaurant sector, flying in from as far as Girona in Spain.

The man in question is of course Joan Roca of restaurant El Cellar de Can Roca which was voted the world’s No.1 restaurant at this year’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2013, whom FOUR – The World’s Best Food Magazine will be lucky enough to shake hands with and interview at the event!

Joan will be taking centre stage, along with this enviable list of culinary giants who will be curating talks throughout the duration of the action-packed three-days.

Monday sees Albert Roux discussing the versatility of bread and chef, author and TV personality Gizzi Erskine asks the question: Is fusion back in fashion? Also making an appearance will be Paul Foster, Head Chef at Tuddenham Mill; John Freeman, Head Chef at Restaurant Sat Bains; Paulo de Tarso, Senior Maitre D’ at Bar Boulud; Carl Clarke; Stevie Parle, Chef/Owner at Dock Kitchen; Wine Journalist Jane Parkinson; and last but by no means least, bringing the first day to a close will be two Michelin starred chef Claude Bosi, Chef Patron at Hibiscus, telling event-goers his favourite autumn flavours.

Also taking place on Monday is The UK Pastry open, which sees seven UK based pastry chefs going head to head to compete for a place at the European Cup held in Geneva 2014, and ultimately a place in the final at the Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie, to be held in Lyon 2015. Contestants include: Barry Johnson, Rococco; Nicholas Borgey, Le Cordon Bleu; Javier Mercado, Le Cordon Bleu; Glen Sharman, Pennyhill Park Spa and Hotel; Joakim Prat, L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon; Niels Verweij, Coworth Park Hotel; and Chris Seddon, Coutts.

On Tuesday, highlights include Italian-influenced forest dishes with Michelin starred Angela Hartnett and chef Luke Holder from Hartnett Holder & Co; a panel debate on whether French cooking is outdated and overrated, featuring Eric Chavot, Executive Chef at Brasserie Chavot; Philip Howard, Chef Proprietor at The Square; Bruno Loubet, Chef Owner at Bistrot Bruno Loubet and Grain Store; Alyn Williams, Head Chef at Alyn Williams at The Westbury; Henry Harris, Chef Patron at Racine; Ben Tish, Chef Director at Salt Yard Group; and Stevie Parle, Chef/Owner at Dock Kitchen; and a talk entitled Horses for courses with Mark Sargeant, Proprietor at Rocksalt Restaurant and Alyn Williams, Head Chef at Alyn Williams at The Westbury.                            

On Wednesday, don’t miss The Social evolution with Jason Atherton, Chef Director of too-many-to-mention London restaurants, including Pollen Street Social and most recently, London’s most lavish dining room, Berner’s Tavern.
