Afghan Saffron is a leading specialist in high quality saffron. Set up in 2001 in the heart of Herat in western Afghanistan, an area known for its harvest of some of the world’s best saffron, Afghan Saffron operates the only ecological saffron plantation in Herat. Their ethos: to produce high quality saffron through innovative production methods. After careful selection from the alluring Crocus sativus plants that inhabit Afghan Saffron’s plantations, each ‘stigma’ or strand is stored under optimum humidity and temperature conditions before being sent to the laboratory to be analysed to ensure the highest of quality.
