At the centre of London’s Mayfair, Claridge’s embodies grand English style, timeless glamour and impeccable, intuitive and highly tailored service. So it’s no wonder that today, 4 November 2013, earmarks a special moment in highly acclaimed British chef Simon Rogan’s culinary career, who has just been announced as the head of Claridge’s new restaurant which is slated to open in Spring 2014!

Widely regarded as one of the UK’s most inventive and exciting chefs, Rogan currently holds two Michelin stars at his flagship restaurant L’Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria, which was recently named ‘Best Restaurant in the UK’ by the Good Food Guide 2014, and ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the 2013 Observer Food Monthly Awards.

Recently featured in FOUR magazine’s UK Summer 2013 edition, Simon Rogan has become something of an icon in the British culinary scene, best-known for his love of fresh, seasonal, British ingredients which he sources from his own farm in Cumbria. His culinary style and commitment to using fresh, local produce will be a defining factor for the new restaurant at Claridge’s.

Commenting on the news, Simon Rogan says: “I have long been looking for a permanent London home and in Claridge’s I feel we have found a true partnership of creativity and world-class excellence. My team and I are looking forward to the challenge of marrying my culinary style with the phenomenal heritage of Claridge’s – this is a massive honour and we are focused and determined to create a truly outstanding restaurant.” – and one that we’re certainly eager to try out. Roll on Spring 2014…!
