Karl and his brother Rudi Obauer have run their restaurant, Restaurant Obauer, in Werfen since 1979, serving their guests interesting and trend-setting culinary creations.

Obauer’s dishes are characterised by regional products, artisan principles and the open view of harmonising flavours from around the world, a unique culinary style demonstrated by the collection of the restaurant's well-known signature dishes: trout strudel, cat-fish with roasted potatoes “Austrian” style and lamb “Werfener” style - as well as sensational new creations.
