John Shuttleworth started his career at The Equinox Resort in Manchester, Vermont where he did a culinary internship as part of a diploma from The University of Derby. With a love of fine dining from the beginning, John honed his skills working at various Michelin starred establishments such as Mallory Court in England and Glenapp Castle in Scotland. He relocated to South Africa in 2008 with his wife Andrea, where he took up a position at Singita Game Lodges. John joined the Rust en Vrede team in 2009 as Sous chef under David Higgs. In July 2011, John took over as Head Chef of Rust en Vrede Restaurant.
